Infrared Sauna Therapy: Benefits, Risks, and More
Some benefits include but not limited to:
Be sure to rinse off after each session to get rid of any toxins sweated out, before they can reabsorb back into the skin.
Now for the Risks!!!:
● Dehydration from sweating
● Heat exhaustion
● Can aggregate eczema
● Avoid if you have sensitive or irritated skin
● Can cause skin burns
DO NOT USE IF:
● There are open wounds or if recovering from surgery
● Medical Professions DO NOT advise using for longer than 30 minutes per session
● Not recommended for clients with M.S. or for women who are in early pregnancy. Infrared saunas are harmful to the baby/fetus, and can cause birth defects.
● Men: not recommended if trying to become pregnant, heat is harmful to sperm.
If the client is healthy there are no risks to using an infrared sauna.
